If Ric Flair loses, he retires from professional wrestling
Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels

Mark Bright:
This, to me, is the real main event of the show. And after the great respect Flair was shown on Raw last Monday - where he got to showcase his talking ability with the great "Old Yeller" promo with Shawn Michaels, as well as having the main event position him as The Man one last time, followed by the emotional Hall Of Fame induction last night - this is just about the perfect send-off to Flair's career.

As much criticism as the storyline has received as a whole, this week has been perfect.

All it needs to send the greatest wrestler of all time into retirement with the utlimate ending is for Ric Flair and his opponent Shawn Michaels to deliver a performance that steals the show tonight.

And make no mistake, that may be the most difficult thing. Flair could always cut the great promo, the booking of Monday's eight-man tag meant that Flair could look great mainly through smoke and mirrors, the Hall Of Fame would always be one of the most emotional nights in wrestling history, but the match? I don't know.

Flair is now 59 years old, and clearly not in his athletic prime. The Ric Flair of 1985 could've had a great match with an opponent as talented as Michaels in his sleep.

Shawn Michaels has spoken in several media interviews this week of the pressure he feels to deliver a great match. Now, Michaels has been under that pressure and delivered way above expectations in the past, but in this situation it's the one and only chance to give his childhood hero the great final match that his legacy deserves - and if there's anything that might make Shawn crack up, his past has shown that it's not being able to live up to the immense pressure he puts on himself. Ric Flair

With that said, this will be a very emotional night, and I believe they will deliver a lasting memory for the fans both in attendance and watching around the world - and Ric Flair will get that one last great match, before riding off into the sunset.

I just worry about the rest of the card that'll have to follow it up, because that's an impossible task.

Phil Lowe: As a wrestling fan, WrestleMania 24 is all about this match. Younger readers likely won't know much about Flair other than his most recent WWE run, and casual fans perhaps won't know half as much about Flair as they do somebody like Hulk Hogan.

While guys like Hogan, and more recently Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock, may been seen by some as the bigger draw in terms of buyrates, tickets sold etc., when it comes to in-ring performance and legacy, Flair is the best. Period.

In the modern day era, Shawn Michaels is - at least to me - the new Ric Flair, for lack of a better way of putting it. He can't have a bad match and has the ability to make anybody look good.

Flair did that for thirty years.

The outcome really doesn't matter in all honesty. I said in my betting preview that I fancied Flair to sneak the win somehow and retire tomorrow night on Raw. Regardless of whether Flair's last match is tonight or not - and chances are it will be - his career is at an end, and he'll be looking to go out on top.

Forget about Mayweather's millions, or the two main title matches on the card tonight, as WrestleMania 24 is all about Ric Flair. I expect his match with Michaels to be good if not great, and even though Flair is fast approaching his 60th birthday, he'll pull it out of the bag tonight, and Michaels will be there to make him look amazing one more time.

If you're ordering the pay-per-view tonight, enjoy it, as this match should provide you with enough WrestleMania moments to last a lifetime.
