Woods plays full round at Torrey Pines ahead of US Open @ Thursday June 5

World number one Tiger Woods played his first round of golf since the Masters on Wednesday.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, Woods played a full round at Torrey Pines eight days before the start of the US Open with no spectators or media present.

The South Course has been closed to the public since May 21 in the run-up to the US Open.

The newspaper reported that the two-time former champion played 17 holes accompanied by caddie Steve Williams and swing coach Hank Haney.

After laying up 100 yards short of the par-five 18th green and seeing a group of people gathering near the green, he picked up his ball and was taken around the grandstand to the parking lot.

Woods had surgery to clean out cartilage in his left knee on April 15, two days after his runner-up finish at the Masters. He revealed earlier this week that while he has been able to practice, he had not played a full round of golf.

He also said in late May that even though he had decided to skip his usual Open tune-up at the Memorial tournament, he was "right on schedule" for the second major of 2008.

It was Woods' first visit to the South Course at Torrey Pines since January when he won the Buick Invitational for the fourth straight year.
