Georges St Pierre has told Matt Serra to take a good hard look at Matt Hughes before he heads to Montreal to defend his Welterweight title at UFC 83 on April 19. St Pierre is adamant he will never lose to the same opponent twice in his UFC career, and it is hard to argue with him when you look back at how he responded to his only other defeat, against Matt Hughes. The Canadian suffered his first career loss at the hands of Hughes at UFC 50, but he has since avenged that defeat with two dominant showings against the same opponent, the last of which was so impressive that it set up a title rematch with Serra. St Pierre is adamant that he was his own worst enemy when Serra knocked him out to snatch the title at UFC 69 in a huge upset. |

And now, he has warned the current welterweight champion to prepare for a very different outcome in front of his home crowd.
"The loss that I had against Matt Serra was the best thing that ever happened to me," said St Pierre. "Now I’m back to where I was years ago, when I was world champion, and I’m going to fight for that title.
"I’ve never been so pumped up in all my life, and I never make the same mistake twice. Next time will be a different story.
"I lost the fight because of myself, my hand wasn’t there to block the punch, my mistake.
"My job is to destroy Matt Serra and that’s what I’m gonna do.
"I’m gonna go for the finish right away."
