Brazil striker Ronaldo has claimed he is set to join compatriot Robinho at Manchester City.
The three-time world player of the year, currently recovering from a serious knee injury, is a free agent after leaving AC Milan in the summer.
The 31-year-old believes he can help make City "one of the best clubs in the world".
"I like the project that City presented me," said the forward. "It's the best offer I've received and it will be interesting to play with Robinho."
The former Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan star has been plagued by injury problems in recent seasons and has not played since he ruptured a knee ligament while turning out for Milan in February.
But the surgeons who operated on his left knee have said Ronaldo could be fit to play after two to three months of heavy work-outs to build up the strength in his leg.
Ronaldo, who has been training with Brazilian club Flamengo, the team he supports, added that he and forward Robinho could form a lethal partnership.
"Me and him, together, we can score more than 50 goals," he stated.
City stunned the football world with the £32.5million record signing of Robinho from Real Madrid and the club's new owners Abu Dhabi United Group have spoken about bringing several world-class players to Eastlands.
Fernando Torres, Cesc Fabregas, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka are believed to be on their high-profile shopping list.
Ronaldo would become the fifth Brazilian at City. Midfielder Elano joined from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer and striker Jo, 21, signed for a then club-record £19million from CSKA Moscow in June.
Reports on Tuesday suggested Ronaldo could pocket as much as £140,000 a week if he was to move to Eastlands.
