Injuries force Roddick and Stepanek out in Rome @ Saturday 10 May 2008, 07:02 PM

Novak Djokovic and Stanislas Wawrinka breezed into the final of the Rome Masters after both their semi-final opponents withdrew through injury on Saturday.

American No1 Andy Roddick was 3-0 down against Switzerland's Wawrinka when he pulled out complaining of a back injury.

And Australian Open champion Djokovic was leading Radek Stepanek 6-0, 1-0 when the Czech, conqueror of Roger Federer 24 hours earlier, withdrew with a shoulder problem.

Roddick, ranked sixth in the world, is almost certain to pull out of this week's Hamburg Masters to ensure his fitness for the French Open, which starts in Paris in two weeks.
