William Hill have reported some betting activity following 14-year old Laura Robson's success at Wimbledon on Saturday.

Robson became the first Brit to win a singles’ title at Wimbledon in 24 years when taking the girls’ trophy on Saturday, a performance that was suitably impressive for the public to part with their cash.

Graham Sharpe of William Hill was quoted as saying at the weekend: "We haven’t seen a stampede to back a young sports person to succeed like this ever before.

"We started off by quoting Laura at 50-1 to win Wimbledon but have had to slash those odds to 10-1 now, while she has also been backed down from 100-1 to 10-1 to win the BBC TV Sports Personality of the Year Award.
