Olazabal pulls out of French Open @ Saturday June 21

Jose Maria Olazabal has pulled out of next week's French Open.

The Spaniard, who has been suffering from fatigue, has not played since missing the cut at the PGA Championship at Wentworth a month ago.

The 42-year-old returned in March after seven months out battling rheumatism but in six events since he has been hit by low energy levels.

Olazabal's manager Sergio Gomez said: "I've told him he should stop playing until he has regained his strength."

Olazabal, who is Nick Faldo's assistant for September's Ryder Cup, is next set to be in action in the Open Championship qualifier at Sunningdale at the end of June.

But as the qualifier calls for 36 holes in one day, the two-time Masters champion has to be considered doubtful to play.

Olazabal missed the Open last year because of a knee injury.
