A waterlogged track has forced Nottingham to abandon Wednesday's meeting.

The scheduled card had been in doubt after heavy rain on Tuesday, and with the course failing to dry up, the course had no choice but to call off racing.

"We've had to abandon I'm afraid," said clerk of the course Nick Patton.

"It's very disappointing because it was a cracking card.

"But in the last 24 hours we've had 25 millimetres of rain on top of the 40-odd we had last week."
