The New York Giants have signed veteran Jeff Feagles to a new two-year deal. Feagles, 41, became the oldest player to feature in a Super Bowl at the start of February when the Giants upset the New England Patriots. His deal with the reigning Super Bowl champions had expired, but having averaged 40.4 yards on 71 punts in 16 games with the Giants last season, New York have moved to keep the man considered one of the best directional punters in league history. "I am excited because I love this team," Feagles said. "I love my team-mates, I love the coaches, I love playing for this organisation, and I love playing football. That is probably why I am doing what I am doing. "The decision was really a matter of if the team wanted to sign me back, and they did, and I wanted to play." Feagles has played in an NFL-record 320 consecutive games, a mark he can build upon next season. |
