Newton Abbot's meeting on Monday afternoon has been given the go ahead after a dry night in Devon.

There had been doubts over the meeting after heavy rain had hit the area, forcing clerk of the course Jason Loosemore to arrange a precautionary inspection.

However, with conditions improving, the National Hunt fixture has now been given the green light.

"We had a dry day on Sunday and also dry night, so we are racing," confirmed Loosemore early on Monday morning.

"It is a pleasant morning and the going is heavy, soft in places."
