Halcon heads the field for Scottish Grand National @ Friday April 18

The presence of top weight Halcon Genelardais means just three horses are in the handicap proper for Saturday's Coral Scottish Grand National at Ayr.

Alan King's eight-year-old was fourth in the Gold Cup last time out and renews rivalry with Miko De Beauchene, who beat him in a driving finish in the Welsh National earlier in the season.

King is also represented by National Hunt Chase winner Old Benny, who will be ridden by Richard Johnson, while Paul Nicholls will be represented by Opera Mundi, the third horse able to run off his correct mark.

Ferdy Murphy runs Leading Man and Noir Et Vert from a long way out of the handicap, while Mon Mome and Philson Run bid to make amends for their failures in the Grand National.

However, one horse not bidding for Aintree compensation is Butler's Cabin, who is likely to wait for the bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown.

Tony Martin's Patsy Hall and the Roy Wilson-trained In The Loop are the only Irish interests in the 24-runner line-up.

Len Lungo is represented by Wild Cane Ridge and bids to become the first Scottish-trained winner of the race for 26 years.
