Darrell Hair is likely to umpire during England's Test series against New Zealand this summer. Hair was removed from the elite panel in the aftermath of the row during the Oval Test between Pakistan and England in August 2006.
But this week it was confirmed by the International Cricket Council that the Australian will return to the Test arena. Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq this week described the ICC's decision to bring back Hair as a "shocker" but England one-day captain Paul Collingwood welcomed the news. "The times Darrell has actually umpired us I thought he has done a very good job," said Collingwood. "He's good to talk to on the pitch, he's very good with the players," he told Radio 5 Live.
"Darrell does get the majority of the decisions right on the pitch which is what you want."
