Jason Maguire believes that he will "never have a better chance" of capturing the Grand National than he does today aboard Cloudy Lane.

Winner of his last three starts, the eight-year-old has been the well supported favourite since leaving Sefton winner Mr Pointment in his wake in the Grimthorpe Chase on March 1.

"The track's in great order," Maguire told the Racing Post after walking the course. "He loves better ground and having won round Ayr on heavy over three miles one furlong carrying 11st12lb, you'd think that this will be ideal.

"When you've got a horse that's 20lb well in, you're never going to have a better chance of taking the race."

However, with bookmakers competing for the best-price, Cloudy Lane is now widely availabe at 13-2 to take the race for trainer Donald McCain.

Further support for Comply Or Die and Bewleys Berry have seen the pair cut to 9-1 and 11-1 respectively.
