Ground conditions continue to dry out at Aintree and a decision on whether to begin selective watering of the track will be made on Wednesday morning.

Clerk of the course Andrew Tulloch told the Racing Post: "We had only 1mm of rain overnight on Monday, which wasn't what I wanted, and today it has been an overcast day with quite high winds and it has dried out a bit.

"It is now good, good to soft in places on the Mildmay and hurdles courses, and still good to soft on the National course.

"The forecast is for it to be cloudy and overcast tomorrow but with no real rain about, just a bit of drizzle.

"I will look at the forecast in the morning and decide whether to do a bit of selective watering on the Mildmay andhurdles courses, just to make sure it stays good."
