Galway have been forced to cancel Tuesday's meeting with the track waterlogged in places.

The course was hit by a substantial amount of rain overnight, leaving officials with no other choice but to abandon the afternoon's card.

Irish Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone said: "Today's meeting at Galway has been cancelled as the track is waterlogged in places.

"There has been over 20 millimetres of rain overnight and this morning."

Galway are also due to race on Wednesday. Noone added: "I would imagine they will be having an inspection but they need things to settle down a bit before making any plans."
