Floyd Mayweather made a shock appearance at WWE's No Way Out PPV in Las Vegas on Sunday night and appeared to have set himself up for a few weeks of involvement with the company.
Mayweather and his posse at ringside became involved in a confrontation with WWE's 7ft star, The Big Show, who himself was returning to wrestling after some time away from the ring. And while Sunday night's events were all part of a storyline to take WWE's Rey Mysterio out of action (Mysterio requires surgery for a torn bicep), there's no doubting that the planned punches that connected with Big Show (Paul Wight) were 100% real. Mayweather connected with three punches, leaving Show's nose and mouth a bloody mess, and on first inspection, a broken nose. It was a perfectly executed "performance" from all involved, leaving the Las Vegas crowd unsure as to whether the whole thing had been planned or not. But even though the plan may not have been to break Show's nose, Mayweather's appearance last night may well be enough to guarantee WWE's WrestleMania pay-per-view is a huge success. After stepping away from WWE in late 2006, Show had been looking into a career in boxing.
