The 28-year-old retired from Sunday's European Grand Prix in Valencia with a blown engine, leaving him 13 points adrift of McLaren's championship leader Lewis Hamilton with six races remaining.
The champion is also seven behind his own Brazilian team mate Felipe Massa, a situation he needs to rectify if he is not to be forced into a supporting role in the battle for the championship.
Massa has won four times this season to Raikkonen's two victories.
Raikkonen has taken just one point from four grands prix on street circuits this season but Spa-Francorchamps, his favourite track, should be a different story with the Finn winning the last three races held there.
"I'd like to race there all the year round," he said.
