mark.bright@oddspreview.com Nico Rosberg is brilliant. Let’s state that for the record. I think if as was rumoured Williams were to "sell him" to McLaren over the winter, then Frank Williams and Patrick Head may as well have packed in F1 forever and gone home and enjoyed the happy and comfortable retirements their great careers have deserved. Skybet - Place your first bet and we'll match it up to £20 I think Rosberg would have proven incredibly difficult for even Lewis Hamilton to beat, and I think if Rosberg is ever in a car which is one of the best two on the grid and is capable of winning races, he could turn it into a World Championship or two. But that's been said of many drivers over the years. In 1991 if you'd told me Jean Alesi would never win a World Championship, and in fact would only ever win one race, I'd have said you were crazy. If you'd told me in 2002 that Juan Pablo Montoya would be in one of the top teams in F1 for his entire career and never finish higher than third in the World Championship, I'd have had much the same reaction. This year, Williams have not delivered a car capable of giving Rosberg the opportunity to maximise his talent. But they have given him a good car, one capable of holding it's own in midfield, which cannot be said of Williams in the previous three years. In Rosberg, they have a driver capable of winning the midfield battle, and getting on the podium on several occasions. Nakajima is barely worth mentioning, getting his F1 drive for no other reason than being Japanese and the team having an engine deal with a Japanese motor company.
Well, like father like son. |
