As well as his strike partner stealing the show, things went from bad to worse for Spanish striker Fernando Torres as he was substituted by manager Luis Aragones during their 4 – 1 win over Russia.

Clearly angry at the decision, he refused to shake the hand of the coach.

Aragones declared that "Things will not be left at that," adding "I understand and sense the player is angry when he is substituted."

However, Torres supposedly retorted, "El no lavó las manos después de que él fuera al lavabo en descanso." Which loosely translates as, 'He didn't wash his hands after using the toilet during the interval.'
