Turkey v Czech Republic The biggest game of the weekend takes place in Geneva on Sunday as Turkey face the Czech Republic in a winner takes all battle for the final qualification place from Group A. The two sides have identical records entering this game, and UEFA have confirmed that should the game end in draw penalties will decide the winner, without the need for the usual 30 minutes extra time. This should lead to a fascinating encounter, and it is Turkey who will arguably go into the game with more confidence following their injury time winner against the Swiss. Arda Turan’s 90th minute winner put Turkey on the brink of qualification, and it will be to him and Middlesbrough’s Tuncay who the Turks look to take them into the quarter finals for only the second time ever. The Czech’s will have to recover from their 3-1 loss to Portugal, and may change tactics and employ giant Jan Koller up front alongside Milan Baros to present a physical presence to the Turks defence. Without the inspirational Pavel Nedved the Czechs lack their former quality, but still have a strong enough backbone with keeper Petr Cech and their lively forwards to cause Turkey problems. BGbet make the Czechs 13/10 favourites in 90 minutes, while VC Bet are 11/5 about the draw and a penalty shoot out to decide the second qualifier from Group A.
