Easy for Murray in Hamburg @ Monday 12 May 2008, 03:40 PM

British number one Andy Murray reached the second round of the Hamburg Masters with a comfortable 6-4 6-1 victory over Russia's Dmitry Tursunov on Monday.

Murray broke Tursunov in the third game and, despite missing a break point at 5-3, served out the first set.

Desperately searching for form ahead of the French Open later this month, Murray made Tursunov pay for a litany of unforced errors.

The 20-year-old was dominant in the second set, breaking in the third, fifth and seventh games to ease into the next round.

"Dmitry is a tough guy to play against because he can hit some huge balls and ones that you don't really expect," Murray told Sky Sports afterwards. "I played really well today, I served good for most of the match, I was never broken and I was happy with the way I played.

"I haven't played that many matches on clay so to expect me to come out and play well every single week... I lost a tough match against a tough player last week and a bit too much was made of it.

"I am playing better on clay this year, I am feeling a bit more confident, I am sliding very well and hopefully I can have another good match tomorrow."
