Vedran Corluka insists he has no regrets about leaving Manchester City for Tottenham. Corluka expected to join Spurs earlier in the summer after the two clubs agreed a fee and the player passed a medical, only for City to call him back at the last minute. The deal eventually went through on Monday - the same day City announced they were to be taken over by the Abu Dhabi United Group. And while the player has no regrets, he admits he was surprised the Eastlands club were prepared to sell him. "It was a big relief because lots of things happened in the last two or three weeks," Corluka told The Sun. |
"First the club decided to sell me but then they stopped the transfer.
"I didn't expect that City would let me go. But they did and to a good club, a big club so I am happy."
Corluka also believes Tottenham can match City's ambitions of playing in the Champions League, despite City now having a massive transfer fund to bring new players into the club.
"Everything is not just money," added Corluka.
"Tottenham is a great team and we have the squad to get into the Champions League.
"My chances of getting there are the same as if I had stayed at City."
