Bristol City and Crystal Palace do battle for a place in the Championship play-off final on Tuesday night, with City going into the game as slight favourites to reach Wembley after their dramatic late 2-1 win in the first leg at Selhurst Park on Saturday. Robins boss Gary Johnson is hoping to mastermind a second successive promotion for his club after leading them from League One last season. Johnson has no new injury worries to contend with as he looks to defend their first-leg advantage. Steve Brooker (hamstring) remains a doubt so Lee Trundle and Dele Adebola are set to continue up front. Midfielder Lee Johnson is pushing for a return to the starting line-up after coming on towards the end of City's 2-1 first-leg victory, but Nick Carle is expected to retain his starting berth with Johnson starting on the bench. Palace make the trip to Ashton Gate without experienced striker Jamie Scowcroft after he aggravated a hamstring problem when coming off the bench in the first leg. Defender Matt Lawrence could start after proving his fitness following a hernia operation. Paul Ifill and Sean Scannell are also pushing for starts should boss Neil Warnock decide to freshen up his squad, but fellow midfielder Neil Danns is still out with a groin injury. |
