England manager Fabio Capello says he knows his starting line-up but will not tell the players until shortly before kick-off.
Capello has revealed that midfielder Gareth Barry is fit enough to be on the bench for the game after he resumed to training earlier this week.
Winger James Milner, who has been suffering from a virus, could start after Capello said in a press conference that the Aston Villa midfielder was fit.
Goalkeepers David James, Robert Green and Joe Hart are yet to be told who will start in goal.
Three of the back four appear to be known with Ashley Cole, Glen Johnson and John Terry all starting, although it is yet to be confirmed who will replace Rio Ferdinand, with Ledley King many punters' choice.
Wayne Rooney will definitely start up front, with England fans waiting to find out if he will be partnered by Emile Heskey, or whether Jermain Defoe or Peter Crouch will get the nod. Alternatively, Rooney could play as a lone striker with captain Steven Gerrard in a more advanced role.
USA coach Bob Bradley has confirmed that striker Jozy Altidore (ankle) is fit and will start the game.
Altidore will likely be joined up front by Edson Buddle.
But defender Oguchi Onyewu (knee) is a doubt and could miss out for the United States.
