Roddick 11/2 to win Wimbledon Men's final after ending Murray's dream

Andy Murray's Wimbledon dream has been ended after he was beaten by Andy Roddick in four sets on Centre Court on Friday.

The American beat the Briton 6-4 4-6 7-6 7-6 to advance to the final where he will face odds-on favourite Roger Federer, who is a best priced 1/7 with bet365 to win his sixth title at the All England club.

Third seed Murray was bidding to become the first British man in 71 years to reach the Wimbledon men's final.

"I thought I played well," said the 22-year-old shortly after his defeat.

"I hit more winners than him, less unforced errors, more aces, it just came down to a few points here and there.

"It came down to his serve and he served very, very well. There's not a whole lot you can do. I definitely didn't play a bad match."

Roddick, seeded sixth and a best priced 11/2 (Boylesports) to win Sunday's final, said of his win: "I had to play my best tennis to win. I can't say enough good things about Andy's game.

"But I can play some tennis sometimes. Not many people were giving me much of a chance, but I knew if I could stay the course, I had a chance.

"He had a lot of pressure on him, and I could come out and swing, and I think that helped.

"He's been a much better player than I have over the last year - I was just a little bit better today."
