Dwan returns to high stakes arena

The World Series of Poker may have meant a dearth in online high stakes action, but Full Tilt’s biggest games seem to be back in full swing.

It’s no surprise to see Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan at the forefront of the action, as he dominates the $200/400 games.

Dwan, who recently agreed a deal to make the ‘durrrr challenge’ live over 500 hands at the WSOP Europe in October, racked up a handsome $846,000 profit in 24 hours, winning monster pots left right and centre. The likes of Brian Townsend and Richard Ashby also enjoyed significant profits, at the expense of David Benyamine, trex313 and luckexpress10.

The highlight hand, which produced a $309,000 pot, epitomised the sick all action flops found in Pot Limit Omaha. On a Qc Kd 7s board, Dwan (8s Kh Ks Ah for top set) Benyamine (6d 10s 9d Jd for a wrap draw), and Urindanger (As Jc Kc Qd for top 2 pair and straight / back door flush outs) moved all in. The turn and river brought the 4s and 2s to gift Dwan a flush and the pot. Dwan is approaching $2 million in profit for the month.
