England avoided all of the dangerous teams in Friday’s World Cup draw, as Fabio Capello’s were drawn against USA, Algeria and Slovenia in Group C of the competition.
Brazil were not so lucky, with the four times Champions being joined in Group G by the Ivory Coast, Portugal and North Korea.
Germany too may face a tough task in Group D, having been drawn against Ghana, Serbia and Australia. The winner of England’s group will face the runner up in this group, so despite an easy first stage, England could well find themselves up against their old enemy early on in the tournament.
Tournament favourites Spain have perhaps the easiest passage to the second, being joined in Group H by Honduras, Switzerland and Chile.
