2010 Ryder Cup betting - £50m to be wagered on Europe v USA next weekend

- 26 Sep 2010

An amazing £50million is set to be gambled on the Ryder Cup next weekend, where Europe are odds-on favourites to beat the United States

There has been speculation over the weekend that USA captain Corey Pavin will drop Tiger Woods next weekend at Celtic Manor, but William Hill (£25 free bet) make Tiger 5/6 to play in all five singles and 16/1 to score a maximum five points.

The firm offer 10/1 that Pavin pairs Woods with Phil Mickelson and have also trimmed the USA to 6/4 (from 13/8).

Europe remains 4/6 favourites.

Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams said: "The Ryder Cup on home soil is a massive affair and we have got taken just over three times the number of bets compared to the Sunday before last time round."
