"Sorry" Schumacher 10/1 for dangerous driving ban
William Hill make Michael Schumacher 10/1 to receive a ban for dangerous driving following Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix which has seen the German hit with a 10-grid place penalty for the next race on the F1 calendar.
Schumacher will start 10 places down the grid at the Belgian Grand Prix after an incident in Hungary with the former world champion pushing former team-mate Rubens Barrichello dangerously close to a concrete wall.
Schumacher on Monday wrote on his official website: "The manoeuvre against him was too hard.
"I didn't want to endanger him with my manoeuvre. If he had this feeling I am sorry, this was not my intention."
Following Schumacher’s dangerous manoeuvre, William Hill are quoting 10/1 that he gets a ban for dangerous driving.
Given his somewhat underwhelming return to F1, Schumacher is 50/1 to never race again and Even money he does not return next season. He is 8/11 to continue as a driver next season.
Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly said: "Schumacher has started showing his age recently, and his driving is certainly getting more erratic.
"The odds suggest that he may only be a few weeks away from needing a sat-nav in order to successfully complete a grand prix."
Of Sunday's incident, F1 pundit Eddie Jordan told BBC Radio 5 Live: "It was horrific. Not only did he [Barrichello] just miss the wall, he [Schumacher] pushed him right across the pit-lane exit.
"You can see the white lane you are not supposed to go across and then he [Schumacher] pushed across on to the guard rail on the other side.
"His legacy is damaged as a result of this, in my opinion."
