'With belief, Sevilla can do great things,' said striker Luis Fabiano this week. They will also need full motivation if they are to do great things in Romania on Tuesday evening.

After booking their place in the Last 16 last time out against Stuttgart, a draw away to Unirea will confirm the Spanish club as winners of Group G. Unirea could qualify themselves if they win and Rangers take at least a draw from their match with Stuttgart.

Since 2007, Sevilla have won five and lost two of seven away games in the Champions League, scoring 18 goals in total. Six of those games went Over 2.5 Goals, which is available at 2.2 with Betfair for this match; four went Over 3.5 Goals, a 4.1 shot this time. No to the Unirea Clean Sheet is suitably short at 1.3.

Prior to this season, the extent of Unirea's European experience was a first-round defeat in last season's UEFA Cup. They were expected to be quickly cut adrift at the bottom of Group G, but are unbeaten since losing the reverse fixture in September, drawing 1-1 at home to both Stuttgart and Rangers. You might not have said it about him as a player, but the priority of Dan Petrescu the coach is defence. Central defender and captain George Galamaz commands a physically powerful unit designed to harry opponents into mistakes.

At full strength - and with full motivation - Sevilla would be technically adroit enough to deal with the pressure, but Manolo Jimenez is without seven players who would usually contend first-team places, including first-choice goalkeeper Andres Palop. He does, however, have all of his most important attackers available: Jesus Navas, Diego Capel and Diego Perotti, the wingers in perpetual motion, are around; and so are the strikers, Fabiano, Alvaro Negredo and Fredi Kanoute.

Club president Jose Maria Del Nido has said he does not expect to see Sevilla relaxing in Romania because first place in the group is not yet secured. He believes a win this evening would confirm Los Rojiblancos as a 'serious alternative' in the knockout rounds. If you're with him, then 2.36 is a good price for the away win. If you're not sure, Over 2.5 Goals might still have some appeal - Jimenez is still mindful of the opprobrium he attracted last season for a boring style of play - perhaps as cover for a 7.2 punt on another 1-1 for Unirea in the Correct Score market.
