Norwich manager Paul Lambert insists his side will “give it a go” at Liverpool in today’s late kick-off just as they did at Chelsea and Manchester United and Victor Chandler are offering 6/4 there are more than three goals scored in this match.
The Canaries lost 3-1 at Stamford Bridge and 2-0 at Old Trafford, but have picked up 11 points from their other six games to sit ninth in the Barclays Premier League.
“We know how hard it’s going to be, they’re a club with great tradition and history and have some great players, but I don’t think our players are frightened by it,” said Lambert.
“We’re not going up there with any trepidation or fear. We are going there to try to win a game the way we did at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford. Yeah we got beaten, but we went and gave it a go and we will give this one a go as well.”
Boosted by the 3-1 home win against fellow promoted side Swansea last weekend, Lambert added: “We’re playing at a high level at the minute and we’re a match for most of the teams at this moment in time.
“The way we are playing we are creating a lot of chances and converting some. The lads are full of confidence and have that spirit they’ve had for the last few years. That seems to have taken us a long way, but there’s also a lot of ability in the side.”
Kenny Dalglish anticipates the Reds, who drew 1-1 with Manchester United at home last weekend, will be in for another tough test.
“We expect as difficult a game against Norwich as Manchester United gave us last week,” said the Scot. “Paul Lambert has done a fantastic job there. They are sitting pretty comfortable in the league in ninth position.
“They went to Old Trafford and played very well. I’m sure they will be looking forward to coming here and doing equally well. We’ll give them every bit as much respect as we did against United or Everton the week before.”
Liverpool are 4/6 with Victor Chandler to be leading at half-time and full-time, while Norwich can be backed at 9/2 to claim a point at Anfield and 11/1 to secure a surprise success.
