Pompey 9/1 to make a winning start under new boss Grant

New Portsmouth boss Avram Grant will likely name Jamie Ashdown in goal in place of the injured David James (calf).

Pompey have Papa Bouba Diop (hamstring), John Utaka (thigh) and Steve Finnan (groin) all battling to be fit and have recalled Asmir Begovic from his loan spell at Ipswich Town.

Manchester United will wait on the fitness of Dimitar Berbatov (knee), Johnny Evans (calf) and Fabio (groin) before naming their starting XI.

Defenders Rio Ferdinand (back) and John O'Shea (ankle) miss out, and Owen Hargreaves (knee) remains sidelined.
