Michael Owen 3/1 to score on his return to Anfield next season

Michael Owen is 10/1 to miss the Red Devils' first match of the 2009/10 Premier League season due to injury after signing for Manchester United.

Owen signed a two-year deal with the Premier League champions after undergoing a medical on Friday afternoon as Sir Alex Ferguson snapped up the hitman on a free transfer from Newcastle United.

Paddy Power make the former Liverpool and Real Madrid forward 10/1 to be ruled out of the opening game of the season, but offer just 2/1 on Owen being fit for the opening eight games of the Premier League season.

The same firm also offer 6/4 on Owen wearing the illustrious number seven shirt at Old Trafford next season following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure and 5/1 on him taking the vacant number 27 shirt.

You can also get 9/4 on Owen scoring more goals than Wayne Rooney next season.

Ladbrokes offer 16/1 on Owen being the Premier League's top goalscorer next season - a market in which Owen was trading at 95.0 earlier this week on Betfair.

Coral offer 3/1 on Owen scoring for United against his former club Liverpool when the two clubs collide next season at Anfield.

The same firm make Owen 33/1 to top the scoring charts and spokesman Gary Burton said: "When any world class centre forward changes clubs there is always a lot of betting interest in how he will perform, and Man Utd fans will be hoping that Owen is still able to deliver at the very highest level, he is 33/1 to top the Premier scoring chart and 40/1 to do it in the Champions League."
