International football betting - Craig Burley to leave Scotland?

Ahead of a crucial World Cup qualifier in Norway, under pressure Burley is odds-on to be the next international manager to leave his post

Scotland face Norway in a crucial World Cup Qualifier on Wednesday and a defeat would put more pressure on their manager Craig Burley.

Victor Chandler make Burley the strong favourite at 8/11 to be the next International manager to leave his post. Northern Ireland’s Nigel Worthington is second favourite at 11/4.

Chandler’s spokesman Neal Wilkins senses that the pressure is building up on the Scottish boss.

"Burley knows he needs to get something out of the Norway game," said Wilkins. "Realistically he needs to get enough points to secure one of the eight second place spots, and a defeat would pretty much rule it out.

"He’s got a tough time ahead of him."

The other managers in the market, Giovanni Trapattoni, John Toshack and Fabio Capello all look reasonably secure for the moment.

The worry concerning Nigel Worthington would be whether he might be tempted to take up a position in the football league.

Next International Manager to leave post:
George Burley 8/11
Nigel Worthington 11/4
Giovanni Trapattoni 5/1
John Toshack 5/1
Fabio Capello 16/1
