Everton v Chelsea betting preview

You can back Toffees and the draw at 11/10

Carlo Ancelotti’s team have won eleven of their twelve matches at Stamford Bridge this season, with the only blot on the copybook coming against Everton in December. The game ended in a 3-3 draw and the Toffees look more than capable of taking another point from this game at odds of 11/4 (totesport).

Indeed, it’s something of a surprise to see the home side and the draw available at 11/10 (William Hill), considering that Chelsea drew 1-1 at Hull in their last away match and made hard work of beating Burnley the game before. David Moyes’ team don’t lose many games at Goodison Park, with Arsenal and Liverpool the only teams to take maximum points this term.

If you do think that the visitors will oblige with a victory, they can be backed at a best price 8/11 with Paddy Power, although they have only won half of their dozen road trips this season.

When you consider how comfortably Everton beat Manchester City and Sunderland last month, the 9/2 (Blue Square) about a home win looks pretty big, especially if Marouane Fellaini can dominate the midfield.

The Toffees will have to keep a tight rein on Didier Drogba (5/1 Coral), who was once again a thorn in Arsenal’s side on Sunday with a well-taken brace. The Ivorian has scored in both matches since his return from African Nations Cup duty and is 13/8 (Coral) to find the net at some stage.
