England call up Trott, drop Bopara - latest Ashes betting

England 4/1 to win fifth and final Ashes Test as selectors gamble on Trott

England have taken a huge gamble for the crucial fifth Ashes Test by calling up uncapped Warwickshire batsman Jonathan Trott and dropping Ravi Bopara.

Bopara's place was questionable after scoring just 105 runs from his seven innings in the series.

All-rounder Andrew Flintoff, who missed the fourth Test defeat at Headingley due to an ongoing knee injury, will play in his final Test match at The Oval next week.

Ian Bell keeps his place in the squad and moves up the order to number three while spinner Monty Panesar has been recalled.

Ladbrokes make Trott 11/2 to score a century in the fifth Test and even money to outscore Bell.

The pair are 8/13 with the same firm to outscore Andrew Flintoff and Matt Prior while Flintoff is 12/1 to take five or more wickets in an innings in his final Test Match.

Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "Despite a poor performance at Headingley England are currently being well-supported ahead of the Oval.

"We've taken twice as much money on them as we have on the Aussies - but that may be because they're twice the price."

The series is tied at 1-1 and England must win to regain the Ashes.
